Based out of Chicago, these solvent cats know how to get a solid clean tape that leaves no streaks!
Powered by science. Powered by you.
Engineered by scientists. Tested for purity. Industrial strength Video Head Cleaner has a superior, penetrating clean.
Frustrated by the inconsistent and unreliable quality of products available through typical retailers, we put our science degrees to use researching the synthesis of powerful solvents that could meet the needs of our Chicago community.
We want to thank all the locals who provided months of quality testing and feedback to craft the perfect blend.

Whether you’re a newbie to solvents or a granddaddy huffer, VHC is perfectly designed to clean any tape with any amount of DIRT! It’s a cult classic for your cult classics.
It’s potent, but nothing a beginner couldn’t handle (though we’re all different). In fact, it’s one of those fumes that subtly tickles your nose, makes its way to the ZONE as you follow it into full effect. It doesn’t immediately blast your face upon intake, it’s a slow-burn if you will. Who doesn’t love a slow-burn? It’s all about the detail, the slow dive into that DEEP clean, IMHO.
I’m not a huge fan of comparing (unless its just an excuse to see your pen*s) so just hear me out. I want to say it’s in the same family as our pals over at Double Scorpio. It has that fresh, velvety, almost herbal, and natural scent. I love the DS ’cause their use of essential oils. Sounds healthy right? Come on, it helps a little. Both side-by-side, they’re equally as good in my opinion, it just depends on the kind of punch you’re looking for.
I’ve had the PL-100, their original formula, that they ever so kindly mailed for us to test. Have you tried the new PL-200? (Currently SOLD OUT @ the time this was written) Drop in the comments if you have, share your experience.
VHC uses “a specially designed formula with both sec-butyl and isobutyl nitrites” so it is potent, but safer than the others that contain any isopropyl/propyl nitrite (which causes eye damage) or Pentyl/amyl/isoamyl/isopentyl nitrite, which is illegal in the US.
If you fancy a good tape cleaner that will blow off your striped tube socks then do yourself a favor and grab a bottle. You can thank us (and them!) in the comments later. They even have merch like jocks and tanks.
I give the PL-100 a 5/5 on the cleaning chart. No more static!
OH, and if you’re in their homestate they have VENDING MACHINES!!!
