Ask The Batemaster: Penis Head Sensitivity Issue

The most effective means of restoring penis head sensitivity is to always use lubrication from now on…

QUESTION: My dick is cut, and the head seems to have lost a lot of sensitivity. I know you say it’s best to use lube, but I don’t, because it’s messy. Is there anything I can do to restore sensitivity?

RESPONSE: The most effective means of restoring penis head sensitivity is to always use lubrication from now on, regardless of the mess factor. Also try pure 100% Aloe Vera gel as a lubrication. When me are endowed with a natural full foreskin, the head of the penis can remain covered a lot of the time, and quite often it is bathed in that marvelous fluid we call precum, or Cowper’s gland fluid. This protects the sensitivity of the glans penis.

In such a condition—erection with foreskin covering your penis head and lubed with precum—the tiniest increment of pressure or motion may generate a powerful bolt of bliss! The foreskin is endowed inside and out with delicious pleasure receptor nerves similar to those on the glans penis or penis head itself. While those of us circumcised (like you and me) will never know exactly how that truly feels (barring some future medical miracle), we can do a lot to protect the head of our penis from getting too dry and from losing sensitivity, and even restore sensitivity.

One matter is the dry friction of underwear. If you must wear underwear often, consider loose boxer shorts. Personally, I prefer to “free-ball” while wearing really soft, loose shorts or house pants without any underwear, for the sheer comfort, plus it seems to help preserve genital sensitivity. One of the nice things about using 100% pure organic coconut oil is that you need not even wash it off entirely when you get dressed. Wipe up a bit, then leave some on your genitals, as it is actually good for the skin.

I also suggest you try Aloe Vera gel, which you can get as pure gel with no additives, or even from the plant directly, by carefully peeling a section of the thick, juicy leaf and scraping out the clear inner gel. Commonly called a “Burn Plant” by some for its medicinal value, Aloe Vera can promote and speed up healing with application to affected areas. There is the added delight of what a slick lube the gel makes. It’s water-based, so will dry out and need a bit of spritzing with a little spray bottle of H2O when it gets tacky.

There is truth to “if you don’t use it, you lose it,” so I do recommend plenty of high-quality masturbation, but in the lubricated forms indicated above. You cannot really re-create a foreskin with today’s medical tech, though you may be able to stretch enough leftover shaft skin to make your penis look more intact.

We circumcised men may sometimes be challenged to get more creative and assertive in the pursuit of pure penis pleasure to try to match the ecstasy of our intact brethren. Only I’m not complaining—I do love my penis immensely just as it is! And I take good care of it.

A note from The Batemaster: I’m honored that the guys at Bateworld have asked me to respond to some questions from male masturbators around the world every week.

The Batemaster (Bruce P. Grether)

How Bruce P. Grether became the Batemaster

Among his earliest memories, Bruce recalls seeing an adult man’s penis swing about anchored in a nest of curly brown hairs when the man was changing clothes. That penis fascinated him and he somehow knew it was of major importance. He also remembers how good it felt to slide down a stairway banister or to climb a tree with pressure between his legs sending delicious sensations all through his body.

At an early age, he played doctor with another boy his age, and the frottage he enjoyed as they rubbed their penises together made him feel One with All Things.

He was older, maybe 9 or 10 years when he figured out how to actually masturbate while taking a shower. Immediately Bruce became a fan of self-pleasure, though, with puberty, he became extremely shy about his body being seen. Still, when his pubic hair sprouted and his penis grew bigger, it astonished him how incredible the sensations could feel with adult genitalia.

All through his 20s and 30s Bruce loved masturbating and did it often. Something kept tell him though, that there could be more to it. None of the books he read about Tantra and Taoist erotic cultivation provided simple how-to instructions. Finally, in his early 40s, he came upon Joseph Kramer’s video about male genital massage: FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN.

Having no playmates to try this with, he tried it on himself. In the process, he discovered what he soon named “Mindful Masturbation.” For 6 weeks he masturbated for hours every day, and did not ejaculate once! This was the Penis Paradise he had been looking for since his adventures playing doctor as a young boy. He was changed forever and lost most of his shyness and insecurities.

Bruce began to listen deeply to whatever his penis told him. This way he learned more and more about male masturbation, the penis, and he studied human sexuality. Soon he was hired to write professionally for the sex education site JackinWorld (dot) com, which he did for some years under the name “Bruce McFarland.”

Since then, his erotic activism is more radical and he uses his actual given name: Bruce P. Grether, AKA the Batemaster. He has hosted workshops and now does online masturbation coaching. In 2012 his best-selling book THE SECRET OF THE GOLDEN PHALLUS was published and with his handsome young friend Blue Tyger he created the Erotic Engineering site to explore advanced male self-pleasure practices.

Bruce considers himself a Missionary of the Male Mysteries and his work continues.

  1. Gosh for eons I used lube then for some reason switched to dry, not sure why. But by design the penis is truly meant to be lubricated for sure. And when we first started masturbating we often tried abit of anything and everything we found in the bathroom cabinet to be slippery to use for lube. Omg, the days of using Vaseline and Jergens Hand Lotion which always sat on top of the toilet tank next to the sink. So it was always handy. And then discovering how to work the tip with lube. And for intercourse both sexes contribute lubrication (especially the female) for our penises amazing “journey.”

  2. Of course the other important question we need to ask “When will we ever stop cutting cocks?” Nature comes up with this amazing design and then we alter it for the dumbest of reasons. Like its a trendy haircut.

  3. I think doctors need to leave children’s penises alone ! Great article….I’ve been using organic unrefined coconut oil for lubrication, based on your earlier teachings, for the last year and a half. Great lubrication with no irritation !
I sometimes use Albolene…have not tried 100% pure Aloe Vera gel. That will be next on my list.

    1. Yes, I don’t believe infant circumcision is a good idea. I also don’t think circumcised men need to feel mutilated or handicapped. The Power of the Penis comes from what you do with it, not how it looks. As I mentioned, Aloe Vera is water-based and will dry out, needing refreshing with water, but it feels good and in extremely good for skin. It’s one of Nature’s “miraculous” plants, and I don’t mean that word in the religious sense, of course!

      1. I agree, it is what it is… (circumcised). Nor have I ever had any complaints from anyone’s who has met mine.

    2. I remember someone had an aloe vera plant in the yard and I went out to break off a stalk and yes – the plant (leaves) make quite a nice natural lube. Just squeeze it out onto your hand or shaft….

  4. I am cut, but have been restoring my foreskin for the past several years. The increase in sensitivity of my glans (head) is incredible. I keep my new foreksin pulled up over the glans during the day, my underwear holds it in place, so no more friction-causing keratinization of my head.

I learned pretty much everything I needed to know at restoringforeskin.org. Great group of guys there to help you and cheer you along on your restoration journey.

    1. Cool! Thanks for sharing your testimony and the link, Brother! The “success” of such procedures does tend to vary some based upon the looseness and sensitivity of the shaft skin that gets stretched “forward” to cover the head. However, that’s wonderful you are pleased with your results! – BPG

    2. Good morning I also restored my foreskin made night and day difference no longer have sensitivity issues and I no longer have erection issues Restoring does work take some time but it’s well worth it I’ve been showing guys talking to guys about restoring since November 2012I am from the buffalo New York area anyone is looking for information about restoring I don’t have a problem answering questions about

      1. That’s great, Brother! Yes, any guys who want to contact you, I believe can do so through the ID on your post, right? Are you Ray1054 on Bateworld? Thanks for your willingness to com muricate with guys on this important issue! — BPG

  5. I 100% agree with Magnum. Since I have begun to restore my sensitivity has gone through the roof.
But Bruce there are two things here. One is the overall sensitivity of the glans, and the other is the gliding movement of the foreskin. If you are circumcised, most of the powerful nerve endings in the frenulum have been removed, though some remain. For uncut guys there is immense pleasure on the underside of the penis between the urethra and where the foreskin bunches up… watch an uncut guy jerk off and you will see he doesn’t focus on the head…
When you’re circumcised by necessity the focus shifts to the head…
But here’s the interesting thing since restoring… when you cover your head/glans for a long time it no longer is dry… it is wet and super sensitive…as it should be!

    1. Yes, Brother, you are right about the frenulum and the super-sensitivity of the protected glans penis. Men who are circumcised have various degrees of frenulum remnant and sensitivity at the underside of the penis head, and this varies from virtually no special sensitivity at all there, to a lot. In my own case I am fortunate there is a lot of frenulum tissue remaining there, a distinct ridge or span of tissue that I can pull out between my fingers and manipulate and this is so extremely sensitive that this can bring me to climax in itself. What those “restoring” cannot quite recreate is the masses of pleasure nerves on both he inside and outside of an intact foreskin, which multiplies the pleasure many times over as the skin slides over the [penis head. Still, I refuse to view myself as handicapped or mutilated–that’s just not a healthy attitude, and my penis remains incredibly sensitive because I take good care of it. As I’ve often said, I do feel infant circumcision ought to be stopped, but tell that to the religious fanatics who insist on it! — BPG

  6. Bruce thank you for your articles.
    When you say-
“The most effective means of restoring penis head sensitivity is to always use lubrication from now on…”
I really think, however, that you should revise the language here because it is inaccurate.
Lubrication does not and cannot “restore” sensitivity. It may *enhance* sensitivity in the moment but the only way for a circumcised man to restore sensitivity is to a) dekeratinizing the glans by keeping it covered and moist all the time– it is not meant to be dry and rubbing against clothing all day and; b) although you correctly state that one can never recover the many, many nerve endings removed in the frenulum the gliding motion that develops after restoring is a major game-changer. Masturbation is FAR more intense for me now than it was after 5 years of restoring and I would encourage more men to try it. It takes a time and requires patience but it is well worth it.

  7. Yes, the dekeratinizing is a kind of reversal of “callus” or dried and abraded skin surface of the glans penis. Keratin is a form of fibrous protein found in the outer layers of human skin, and in other animals associated with dry and fibrous structures such as feathers, claws and hooves. You may or may not be absolutely correct that penis head sensitivity cannot be restored–as I’ve spoken with quite a few men who feel that using Aloe Vera gel (a known healer of burns and wounds of human skin) and also consistently masturbating only with plenty of lube, has increased their sensitivity many times beyond what they experienced dry and circumcised. This is what many men have testified to me, not only preventing further de-sensitizing, but seeming to revers it after long times of wearing underwear. Personally, I seldom wear underwear, instead living mostly at home in soft cotton shorts and house pants.

    1. Thanks Bruce.

You are absolutely correct- I may or may not be right in terms of sensitivity but one thing I can say is that the body evolved as it evolved over millennia. Fact is that in the US, thousands of nerve endings are cut out of our penises as infants, nerve endings we can never get back We’re the only country in the world that has culturally adopted circumcision as a non-religious norm. Fortunately, this is decreasing as parents become more aware of the damage it inflicts on children.

I’m not an intactivist but it would be remiss not to consider, especially when the entire world of men have an entire penis and we… a small portion of the world, Israel and the Muslim world (for purely religious reasons) do not. Now why is it that I as an American have to be subjected to that?

I was particularly enlightened by Eric Clopper’s presentation at Harvard… which got him fired and banned from the university (for challenging societal reasons)… Big legal case from 2018 which is ongoing. His presentation is outstanding (and he is not bad eye candy too LOL).

I really, really appreciate all of your advice and wisdom but in this area I would lovingly (and I do not AT ALL say that sarcastically) strongly encourage you to read a bit more on the topic because I was in your shoes a few years back and discovered a lot of new things.. Aloe vera definitely can moisturize but it is not going to work in the same way as keeping your glans covered. Try it!!

      Respectfully,

      1. Dear Brother Phil:

Your comments are appreciated, honored and respected by me. I don’t think we actually disagree to a major extent, as I feel very strongly that all infant circumcision needs to be ended. I’ve got a blog upcoming soon on this general subject, which may catch some flack… but this is an important subject. Alas, I don’t consider the Judaic and Muslim populations so tiny or insignificant, even if they are a global minority. To me those religious prescriptions are tragically a control issue that uses superstitious and supernatural explanations to justify a rather horrible real-time practice with lifelong human consequences.

I’ve also got no doubt that, as you say and many other men I’ve communicated with testify, keeping the head of the penis covered really helps to restore or maintain sensitivity. I’m not dogmatic about the possibility aloe vera might help restore some cellular function of the glans, but I know at least some men who feel that it has done so for them,.I’m just passing on the experience of some men, me among them, who feel this has helped. This matter is probably not entirely measurable in the scientific sense, as pleasure levels are largely subjective experiences.

I can say that if my circumcised penis was any more sensitive, I’m not sure I could endure the extremities of ecstasy, which is not even necessarily true. Inherent to my work is that the penis can actually be trained as an ongoing lifelong process to provide you with ever-increasing levels of pleasure. For me, the pleasure levels continue to rise higher and higher. There seems no limit.

Again, my thanks for your comments,

        Peace,
        Bruce
